Young Flintshire Workshop focusing on Logo Design, Belonging Project Launch and Community Mapping.
About this Event

Facilitated by the Healthy Schools Team and Youth Service, this 'in person' session will bring Young Flintshire members together to develop a logo, explore the Belonging Project and carry out Community Mapping - all actions from the November meeting. 1 Member of staff and 2 Associate Pupil Governors (APG's) are invited per school. Refreshments will be provided.

Young people will have oportunities during school time as well as outside school time to be involved in a number of projects and consultations across the council. This is a great opportunity to develop leadership, communication skills and be involved in leading change locally.

There is a staff trainig event running alongside Young Flintshire workshop:

Participation Officers from the Children’s Commissioner for Wales Office, Chloe and Kath, will be running a training session and providing bi-lingual physical resources to take back to schools. In the participative training session they will:-

• Share resources and practical sessions you can use to raise awareness of the UNCRC with pupils

• Share good practice ideas

• Share ‘Monthly Matters’ an online engagement tool to run with pupils

Following the session we ask that staff trial ‘Monthly Matters’ within their settings and attend a follow session in the summer term to share good practice on how they are implementing a children’s rights approach. This will also be an opportunity to share any challenges and feedback on resources.
