About this Event
Facilitated by the Healthy Schools Team and Youth Service, this 'in person' session will bring young people across Flintshire together to celebrate teh launch of Young Flintshire, understand the roles and responsibilities of Young Flintshire members and the next steps. 1 Member of staff and 2 Associate Pupil Governors (APG's) are invited per school. Refreshments will be provided.
The nominated Associate Pupil Governors (APG’s) on your school council are invited to be involved in Young Flintshire. After a successful pilot during the summer term the academic model will run from November 2024-July 2025 with a focus on the Autumn and Spring terms. Young Flintshire members will be involved in collating and reviewing responses from young people in school settings and communities, speaking to decision makers and supporting council departments and actions.
Young people will have oportunities during school time as well as outside school time to be involved in a number of projects and consultations across the council. This is a great opportunity to develop leadership, communication skills and be involved in leading change locally.
The Healthy Schools Team will provide a contribution of £100 towards supply cover per school. If staffing is a barrier, please let us know as FCC staff can organise picking up young people and transporting to the venue and back.
