Young Divorce: Finding Your Way from Heartbroken to Whole

Young Divorce: Finding Your Way from Heartbroken to Whole is a five-week, hybrid, support-based workshop series running from May to June in Bedford, designed for female-identifying people in their 20s and 30s to build hope, empowered perspectives, and resources as they navigate pre-divorce, mid-divorce, or post-divorce challenges.

For $300 + HST for the workshop series (about $69 per session) participants will:
- Access practical resources and videos via an online platform for 1 year
- Connect with a community of others who “get it”
- Learn how to perform quick tapping, breathing, and somatic exercises that can be used throughout the day to release stress and restore energy
- Acknowledge the pain and uncertainty of this time and envision a future that feels better
- Use helpful frameworks, tools, and strategies to guide decision making

Please note in-person sessions are held in a second-floor meeting space accessible by stairs. We ask participants to consider their physical mobility when registering for the workshop.
Meet the facilitators
The Young Divorce workshop series is a passion project for co-leads Kyla Friel, RCT, CCC and Melanie Starr, mEFT.
Kyla is a Registered Counselling Therapist and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) practitioner with over 10 years combined experience working in settings like post-secondary, Employee Family Assistance Program, hospice, substance use recovery, and private practice. Kyla is a big fan of using ACT and meaning making to make sense of situations, inform decisions, and reaffirm self identity. Meditation, yoga, Pilates, and podcasts are Kyla’s go-tos to restore energy.
Melanie is a Certified Master EFT Practitioner, Life Coach, Reiki Master and yoga teacher who runs an online divorce support group and works extensively as a coach and healer with women navigating and recovering from divorce and toxic relationship dynamics. Melanie is dedicated to helping women find and foster the power that resides deep within them, and learn how to tune into their bodies and emotional guidance system to make more empowered choices in life.
