Welcome to our Young Chef Club: Chef Jacket Program! This exciting culinary experience is designed for young chefs ages 8-15, offering a blend of cooking skills, life skills, and STEAM education. Here's what your young chef will learn:Program Highlights:
Class Schedule: Join us every Wednesday from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM for engaging sessions.
Monthly Themed Classes: Explore new culinary themes each month, from international cuisines to baking techniques.
Earning Themed Pins: Collect special themed pins at the end of each month to showcase your culinary achievements.
Comprehensive Curriculum: Covering topics like:
International Cooking: Discover cuisines from around the world, learning about different ingredients, cooking methods, and cultural significance.
Culinary Skills: Master essential techniques such as knife skills, sautéing, baking, and grilling, as well as advanced skills like fermentation and homemade pasta making.
Life Skills: Develop important skills like meal planning, grocery shopping, budgeting, time management, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving.
Kitchen and Sanitation Skills: Learn proper kitchen safety and sanitation practices, including food safety, proper storage, and cleanliness.
STEAM in the Kitchen: Integrate STEAM concepts through cooking, understanding the science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics behind culinary arts.
Cost and Commitment:
The first month's fee is $248, which includes class materials needed for the program.
Every month after is $189.
About Chef Cameron Ball:
Led by Chef Cameron Ball, an ACF Certified Chef and Healthy Hands Instructor with experience from Ballymaloe Cookery School in Ireland.
What We Offer:
A comprehensive culinary education with essential skills, nutrition knowledge, safety guidelines, and more.
Monthly skill demonstrations, showcasing your young chef's progress.
What's Included:
The fee covers a Student Chef Kit, including a personalized black chef jacket, binder, gloves, handouts, and achievement pins.
Graduation Day:
Culminates in May with a Mini Graduation Ceremony, where your young chef will receive their Gold Chef Culinary Pin.
Important Details:
Classes start on September 11, 2024.
Limited seating of 16 for the entire program.
This is a drop-off class with limited enrollment.
Attendance is essential for earning skill pins.
Chefs must wear closed-toe shoes and have hair pulled back.
Bring a pencil, binder, clean chef jacket, and gloves to every class.
