Contact the trip leader to preregister and get meetup location. Kathleen Dougherty Email: [email protected]Fall bird migration is well underway by October. Migratory birds are winging their way south to their overwintering grounds. Along their way they stop, rest, and refuel. Rose Oaks Park offers many rest spots to support birds during migration. This 640-acre park has numerous natural areas including lakes, wetlands, fields, and forests. It is an ideal place for birds to take much-needed breaks along their journeys south. Mike Dougherty, Oakland Bird Alliance member and nature photographer, will share some of his favorite birding spots at Rose Oaks. Mike is the owner and entrepreneur of Silent Light Photography, a business specializing in nature photography.
Take time to witness the amazing natural phenomenon of migration during a hike at Rose Oaks County Park. Plan to celebrate World Migratory Bird Day. Educational resources will be distributed at the hike.
