You Matter to ME: A Mental Health Arts Festival Join us on Saturday, May 10th, from 10am-6pm in Downtown Augusta for a special day of art, performances, and community connection centered around mental health. Maine Arts Academy, Healthy Communities of the Capitol Area, and the Augusta Teen Center, located in central Maine, believe it’s our duty to speak out about mental health and create a safe space for these important conversations.
This year’s "You Matter to ME" festival will feature:
Interactive Chalkboard Wall – Add your voice to the conversation and share your thoughts on mental health.
Student Theater Performances – Maine Arts Academy students will bring powerful stories to life on stage.
Student Dance Performances – Moving performances highlighting the importance of mental health awareness.
Poetry Readings – Words that inspire, comfort, and open dialogue.
Student Art Exhibits – Stunning works by student artists, all focused on themes of mental health and healing.
Family-friendly Activities - Children will have the opportunity to play games and do activities.
Locations throughout Downtown Augusta will be marked with vibrant colored balloons, guiding you to the art, performances, and conversations that matter. We’ll provide a map and schedule so you can plan your day and ensure you don’t miss any of the impactful experiences.
You Matter to ME is more than an event—it’s a movement. We’re collaborating with local schools, businesses, and community partners to create a space where mental health is openly discussed and supported. This is a day to remind each other that YOU MATTER, and we’re in this together.
