Join us on Thursday 20th October from 19:00 to celebrate the launch of Rob Parker’s powerful new book, You Are Not Alone.
Rob Parker is a writer and qualified primary school teacher based in Suffolk. Alongside his wife, Lucy, he creates picture books that aim to educate, entertain, and support emotional wellbeing.
You Are Not Alone is a powerful, multi-perspective narrative that highlights the hidden battles veterans and their families face after returning from war.
At its heart is Jack — a soldier, devoted husband, and loving father — whose transition home marks the beginning of a deeper, more personal war: the war within.
Told through the intimate voices of Jack, his wife, and their children, the story explores the adjustment to home life after service, the silence that settles into homes, and the journey of healing through real-life organisations like Combat2Coffee, Mind, and Samaritans.
But more than that, You Are Not Alone is a beacon of hope. It’s here to say that healing is possible, that speaking out is strength, and that every single person affected by mental health issues deserves to know they are not alone.
