Let's ring in the NEW YEAR a little early this year and celebrate 2025 at Asbury Book Cooperative!
There will be dancing, snacks, soft drinks, and did I mention DANCING!?
There will be three performances happening. Music with singer/songwriter Songbird. Tap dance performance with Jared Alexander & Rachel Binney. A musical experience with philly producer/rapper and harpist, Kuf Knotz & Christine Elise !
PLEASE WEAR YOUR SEQUINS! We are going all out at the bookstore so dress your 'Gatsby' best!
There will be a $15 suggested donation and all proceeds will go to our 2024 Holiday Book Drive! This will be the LAST DAY we are recieving donations so we ask that you all please help us reach our goal of getting 1,000 new books for the kid's in the Asbury Park Community!

Meet the performers:
SONGBIRD
Songbird is a 24 year old singer/songwriter from Brick, NJ. She has been doing music her whole life and is pursuing it full time. Songbird has been seen at many venues including: The Bitter End, Rockwood Music Hall and Arlene's Grocery. Although she has performed in many notable places, she holds Asbury Park close to her heart and frequents local venues like Wonderbar, The Asbury Hotel, Convention Hall and Asbury Book Cooperative! Songbird has been working with a team in Nashville to get her music heard and is always striving to be the best version of herself through her music!
JARED ALEXANDER & RACHEL BINNEY
Born and raised in Clintondale NY, Jared began dancing at the age of three starting with Tap. He then went on to graduate from Pace University NYC with a degree in Commercial Dance BFA in 2019, is now a Creative of multiple art forms, experimenting in Beat Making, Videography, Photography, “Hypebeast” Technology and Fashion, as well as illustrative exploration. Jared is a Choreographer with work recently debuted at City Center NYC, is sponsored by Miller and Ben Tap Shoes, works part-time at Apple UES, the creator of Capture The Tap, an art installation project, Performed in many venues under and alongside Ayodele Casel & Torya Beard, and is a company member of Caleb Teicher & Co. Jared currently resides in NYC, and his dream is to create a multipurpose creative space that allows for focused artistry, performance art, fine art, film production, and the purity of human connection to immerse in. @jared_alexandah

Rachel Binney is a tap dancer based in New York City. Rachel began dancing in Brewster, NY where she studied as a multidisciplinary dancer with Nicole Aravena. She took a special interest in tap dance, and sought further training at Steps on Broadway with Derick K. Grant and at the American Tap Dance Foundation as part of the Tap City Youth Ensemble. Some of Rachel's performance appearances include the New York City Tap Festival, Chicago Human Rhythm Project, Beantown Tap Festival as part of Sarah Reich’s Tap Music Project, Tap Family Reunion, Asbury Park Dance Festival as part of Jared Alexander & Friends, and more.
Rachel has co-produced and choreographed a show entitled "Love Notes to Tap Dance" through the Gallatin School of Individualized Study at NYU. She presented for Steps Beyond Foundation’s Performance Lab at Steps on Broadway. Rachel joined Dance Lab New York as Rehearsal Director for their 2022 Tap Dance Lab Cycle under the direction of Ayodele Casel and Torya Beard with choreographers Naomi Funaki, Dario Natarelli, and Demi Remick.
Rachel attended Lehman College for Rehabilitation Science and seeks to continue collaborations with arts education organizations such as Dance Education Equity Association (DEEA). Rachel is currently on faculty at Tap Dance Central and a guest teacher at studios across the greater New York (city) area.
KÜF KNOTZ & CHRISTINE ELISE
Named Philadelphia Magazine Best Rapper of 2022 and 1 of 10 New Jersey Artists to watch, Küf Knotz(Producer/MC) and Christine Elise (Harpist/Vocalist) have brought their unique blend of hip-hop, soul and classical traditions to various communities. The unlikely pair connected and built a similar bond to creating positive, forward thinking music fusing boom bap era hip hop and lo-fi inspired beats supported by the harp. Their performance takes you on an era fusing, genre bending journey. And, you can dance to it. The duo has been featured on NPR Music and WHYY.
