YOSA Summer Symphony Camp has twelve musical sessions over three separate weeks. Young musicians will hone their skills, meet new friends, and learn great music, all with the best music educators in San Antonio! • Orchestra X Camp- For ages 13-18, Explore string music from beyond the classical repertoire, incorporating rock, pop, Broadway, and Latin grooves, plus the chance to jam with a powerful rhythm section of guitar and drums.
• Middle School String Orchestra Camp– For Ages 10-14, Middle school string players will have a great time as they advance their skills with a fun week of orchestra rehearsals, sectional coaching, and other musical activities.
• Cello Intensive - For ages 12-18, A focused week for teen cellists to advance their instrumental skills and make music together, led by San Antonio Philharmonic Principal Cellist Kenneth Freudigman.
• Jazz and Big Band Camp (no audition required) For ages 13-18, Take your jazz and big band skills to the next level with instruction from top local pros and experienced music educators, culminating in a fun concert.
Some camps require an audition for placement unless stated. Audition days are June 1-3, 2024. Sign up for a time slot at www.yosa.org/audition up until May 31, 2024.
This year, YOSA will offer a lunch option, supplying campers with a cafeteria meal every day of camp for an additional $50.00. YOSA will also offer extended drop off hours from 8:00am to 9:00am and extended pick up hours from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm for an additional $50.
