Leaird's Underwater Service is offering an entry level Open Water scuba course February 2nd-March 16th at Yorktown High School with Instructors Trent and Hannah. This course is open to everyone age 12 and up including students, school staff, and the general public. Earn a lifetime Scuba Educators International Open Water Certification for Scuba Diving at completion of course and checkout dives.
Course Schedule and Fees:
Course includes a total of 32 hours of instruction. Class will meet 7 times on Sundays 4pm-8pm beginning February 2nd. Each class session consists of 2 hours of class work and 2 hours of pool exercises. The cost is $350/student and includes use of all dive equipment, textbooks, & class materials. Students will need to own their own set of personal snorkeling gear (mask, fins, snorkel) by the 4th week of class.
Checkout Dives and Fees:
Upon completion of classes and written test, each student will need to complete 5 supervised Open Water Dives. These are done at our quarry in Muncie, Philips Outdoor Center, typically on a Saturday and Sunday. Cost for the checkout dives is $225- includes cost of all scuba rental gear, wetsuits, quarry entrance fees, and instructional staff.
