York: Milk is NOT Human(e) Speciesism x Be The Alternative

Join us for Speciesism's "Milk Is NOT Human(e)" Campaign on the 9th of November at 1 pm at York Art Gallery. We are seeking dedicated volunteers to help us make a powerful statement with three critical roles:
Milked Women: We need several courageous women willing to wear flesh-colored costumes and be connected to "milking" machines as part of our visual piece. You will have regular 5-minute breaks, and we encourage you to bring a flask to stay warm and hydrated.
Farmer: We need someone to passionately deliver a speech from the perspective of a farmer who proudly "rears" women for their milk. Your role is to bring this disturbing perspective to life, challenging the public to think critically.
Outreach Volunteers: As with all our events, we need enthusiastic outreachers to engage with the public, ask thought-provoking questions about the message behind the art piece, and help raise awareness about speciesism and the dairy industry.
This event is expected to attract media attention, providing a fantastic opportunity to amplify our message and make an impact.
THE CAMPAIGN
"Dairy cows endure a cycle of constant impregnation to ensure a steady milk supply. They are constantly impregnated through forceful insemination. In human terms, this is called R*PE. This process involves inserting semen stolen from a bull into a cow's uterus using manual or mechanical methods,. This is not a natural process for cows, just like it isn’t for female humans, and is repeated every 12 to 14 months, to maintain a continuous cycle of pregnancy and milk production solely for human consumption.
After giving birth, their calves are stolen from them. Daughters are prepared to become dairy cows, sons are sold off to be slaughtered for their body parts. The mother cow's milk, originally intended for her calf, is instead harvested for human consumption. When dairy cows reach an age where their milk production declines, they are sent to slaughterhouses, where they are murdered and their flesh will be turned into products. This fate awaits millions of dairy cows every year and often unknown by consumers.
If it’s not okay for humans, it’s not okay for COWS.
END SPECIESISM."
