About this Event
Blaze a trail during the Aesthetica Short Film Festival and join our York Fire Walk, as we light the fuse of the city’s fiery history!
In the company of our expert guides, Dr Simon Rogerson and Dr Liam Herringshaw, you’ll hear of Roman cremations, Minster fires, far-sighted volcano-chasers, and the Frenchman who saved York from burning to the ground. Oh yes, and some guy called Fawkes. On the York Fire Walk, there are bound to be fireworks!
The walk is aimed at people aged 8 and up, lasts around an hour, and follows a step-free (but sometimes narrow and/or cobbled) route. We start by the Roman Column in Minster Yard, next to York Minster. We finish outside the City Screen Picturehouse on Coney Street.
We're proud to be offering this free, family-friendly walk as part of the first Aesthetica Fringe at this year’s BAFTA-Qualifying Aesthetica Film Festival, running from 5–9 November. For full details on the festival programme, please visit https://www.asff.co.uk/
