Yonder Mountain String Band, a driving force in roots music for nearly three decades and a key player in the progressive jamgrass movement, kicks off a new chapter with Nowhere Next. A mix of bluegrass, indie rock, and country with soulful, funky grooves, the album follows the Grammy-nominated Get Yourself Outside (2022) and adds depth and momentum to Yonder’s legacy.Nowhere Next showcases founding members Adam Aijala, Dave Johnston, and Ben Kaufmann, alongside multi-instrumentalist Nick Piccininni and newcomer Coleman Smith. Together, they co-wrote nine of the eleven tracks, blending their perspectives and vocal ranges. Grammy-winning Dobro legend Jerry Douglas also lends his signature style to three standout songs.
