Yoko Yates and her quintet will perform pieces from her releasing new album, Eternal Moments on Saturday, September 20 at 8 pm at Greenwich House Music School. The quintet consists of Yoko Yates (Piano/Compositions), Jamie Baum (Flt./AFlt.), Sam Sadigursky (Cl./BCl./ ASax.), Aryeh Kobrinsky (Bass), and Jeff Hirshfield (Drums). Tickets are available in advance until 8 pm on 9/19 or day-of at the door $30 (Cash only, $25 for youth).
Yoko Yates is a Japanese born and NYC based pianist, composer, and educator who has served as a faculty member of both BKCM and GHMS. Her acclaimed 2022 debut on SteepleChase LookOut, Mystic Life, introduced a composer with a direct line to a beguiling trove of childhood memories. Her second album, Eternal Moments, showcases the same superlative cast of players while Yoko continues her sensorial sojourn, celebrating the wonders of the natural world (Andrew Gilbert).
