Join us for a fun afternoon yoga workshop with a very experienced Iyengar Yoga instructor, Maryam!
Forward extensions give us a chance to bring awareness & length to the full back-body as well as the hip muscles, hamstrings and lower back. These muscles often feel tight and sore after several hours spent sitting. Therefore when practiced with care and step by step, we can create space between each and every vertebra, increasing circulation to the nerves & use this type of practice as a great tool for creating a mood of tranquility & experience many physiological benefits such as slowing down the heartbeat, curing stomach pains, menstrual cramps & toning the liver, spleen and kidneys.Forward bends soothe the nervous system and therefore encourage introspection, a great way to go into a meditative state of mind.
