Come join us in the gardens for STRESS RELIEF through beginner, gentle yoga. No experience is necessary, however for those who practice yoga feel free to join us and modify positions. ALL you need is a mat, a bottle of water (if you would like a towel) and an open mind to learn new activities. Yoga is beneficial to reduce stress, help flexibly , balance and strength. This class is held on the back porch of the Welcome Center, overlooking beautiful Lake Rowena (Weather Permitting).

Space is limited, registration required!

Joyce Bowers: I have studied yoga with many yoga professionals since 2007. I began practicing yoga as a necessity to help REDUCE MY STRESS and relieve my extreme BACK PAIN. I was an attorney at the time practicing law at Walt Disney World Resort. It was a stressful job that included many hours at work sitting. I “worked out” regularly but finally in 2007 my back “went out”. I could no longer walk fully upright, I could not work out, I could barely sleep and work. I lost weight from the pain; it was a depressing time. I met with several doctors, ALL recommended surgery. Then I met a doctor, who suggested that I consider acupuncture (I was afraid of needles) and Yoga. He explained how my disk herniations could be a result of my stress and lifestyle. After finding an amazing yoga teacher (I needed to go to three studios before I found her) and following a regiment of acupuncture, I was able to resume all of my activities. It was a long but amazing journey.I promised myself once I retired I would become a yoga teacher, and share my experience with others to help them live healthier, better lives. I tell you this story to let you know ANYONE can practice YOGA at anytime in their life.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available to FNGLA Certified Professionals upon request.

Participants must withdraw from classes at least five days prior to the start of class in order to receive a full refund or credit. If we must cancel a class, we will make every effort to inform you prior to the class time, and you will receive a full refund or credit. Only those registered for the class will be permitted in the classroom. Childcare services are not provided.
