About this Event
Piloted in 2021, "WELLderness: An Outdoor Wellness Series" was developed to bring members of the community together (in person and online) to engage in activities that would have a positive impact on their physical and mental health and well-being. Throughout the year, people have the opportunity to participate in FREE events that center around fostering better connections to self and the environment.
**Masks are no longer required. They remain optional for those who wish to wear one during a Friends event**
About the Instructor
Heather is a resident of Hillbrook in Ward 7 and has practiced yoga for over 30 years. She has been teaching since 2007 after teacher training (and further studies) at Yoga Vidya Dham in India. Heather enjoys sharing the many aspects of yoga with her students and especially enjoys sharing her love of the practice of Surya Namaskara (Sun Salutations). She believes in practicing with devotion, incorporating mantras into the practice, focusing on the breath and body awareness. One of her favourite asanas is Ardha Matsyendrasana as it provides such a wonderful twist. Classes offered are beginner friendly. In addition to Yoga, Heather has studied basic Ayurveda in India as well as Reiki and is certified in Yoga Therapy and Thai Yoga Massage/Therapy.
