Wendy Bio: Wendy was born and raised in Ecuador, where she spent most of her childhood dancing ballet and competing in swimming. After graduating from International Business School, she moved to Canada to start a new journey with a quick stop in Costa Rica for her first Teacher Training.Vancouver has been her home since 2017 after living in Ottawa for 5 years.Wendy holds multiple certificates such as Hatha Yoga, Therapeutic Yoga, Yin Yoga, SUP Yoga, Aerial, Prenatal Yoga, and Clarity Breathwork Certificate.Wendy’s Yoga journey started back in 2010 after she discovered the benefits of meditation that helped her significantly with her road to remission for Lupus. Her life with Lupus has helped her to understand and sympathize with her students’ needs and goals and has shaped her style of teaching.Her classes will help you get to move your body with great knowledge and in a pain-free way with a focus on alignment using your breath as your main tool. Wendy brings to her teachings the spiciness of her heritage and the openness of her heart while leading you in her soft voice through a body-awareness class.Her favorite thing to do: is cooking and doing calligraphyThing that challenges her the most: any winter outdoor activityThings she will never tell you: she loves comic books and everything about the Wizarding World.
Brittany (Britt) Bio: As one-half of the Samadhi Shala ownership team, Brittany is a BIPOC (Metis/ African American/ Caucasian) fitness enthusiast and wellness advocate dedicated to empowering people of all backgrounds and ages. Growing up in Halifax, NS, where health and wellness advocates were few and far between, she found solace in the gym while living in disadvantaged neighborhoods. This initial spark of interest quickly evolved into a passion, driving her to create an accessible and affordable wellness space of her own. With a keen eye for detail and a genuine passion for bringing people together, Brittany excels at creating welcoming environments where individuals can come together for deep healing and connection.
About Samadhi: Established in March 2024, Samadhi Shala presents a variety of classes including yoga, Pilates, restorative, and strength training. Situated along the scenic Coal Harbour Seawall within the upscale Westin Bayshore, Vancouver hotel, this charming studio was founded with a heartfelt mission to unite individuals from diverse backgrounds and lifestyles in the pursuit of wellness and mindfulness. Offering weekly classes, special events, and training opportunities, Samadhi Shala warmly welcomes anyone seeking to engage, connect, and deepen their understanding of a particular practice.
