Yoga is all about getting to know yourself while practising the art of presence by focusing on your breath. Yes the heart of yoga is your breath - not what contorted positions you can get your body into. It's about settling into the current moment by observing sensations from a silent space within, using your breath as an anchor into the present moment. The benefits speak from themselves as this guides your nervous system away from a dominant sympathetic state (known as. 'fight or flight') and into that uch needed parasympathetic state (known as 'rest and digest'). The goal of yoga is to get your mind to a place where all emotional and mental fluctuations become still. Jade discovered yoga in her burn out a few years ago and is passionate about sharing its benefits with as many people as possible.
Words from Jade: I have chosen breathwork, mindfulness and yin that have helped me settle into deep states of relaxation, even in times of turbulence.
Acupuncture is a modality of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is now widely used to treat everything from pain, anxiety, digestive conditions, insomnia, menopausal symptoms and fertility. Acupuncture moves the body's "Qi" or life force through channels/meridians to restore balance and promote the body's natural healing processes. From a western perspective It works on stimulating the nervous system to release neurotransmitters such as serotonin and dopamine, hence a feeling of floating and deep relaxation during and after treatment.

The points I have chosen for you all today are perfect for the results we wish to achieve from the day's experience, deep feeling calm in the mind and body. I will use a maximum of 5 needles and will ensure your comfort through the process.
Given that the mission statement behind Inner Lifetime is to help you find your thrive, with a passionate focus of bringing you simple yet effective yoga techniques, which are accessible to all - INCLUDING BEGINNERS, this event is no different. Do you need to have practised yoga before? No. Do you need ot have had an acupuncture treatment before? No. All you need is compassion for yourselves, to give yourslef this time out from the hectic culture of western society by recognising that you deserve some down time. This event is the first of many that will be hosted by Jade and Sarah - the themes will vary but this one is about activating your parasympathetic nervous system. We want you to float out...
Jade met Sarah when she went to her during burn out, before her diagnosis with PMM (Pre Menstrual Dysphoric Disorder) and was is absolute shock with the power of acupuncture. Sarah is a compassionate soul and no matter what state Jade showed up in, Sarah always knew how to handle her with care, diligently plannign the appropriate meridians to access with acupuncture. Stress and health issues are no stranger to Jade nor Sarah so they are passionate about using their knowledge and life experiences to help you find that calm space within. Hence the birth of 'yoga - puncture', 2.5 hours with 2 souls passion to help you find a calm, nothing more.
Heres a rough idea of what to expect during the 2.5 hours...
4pm: We will introduce ourselves and give you an idea of what to expect.
4:05pm: 10 Minutes of pranamaya (breath-work) to start the journey into your parasympathetic state.
4:15pm: 30 minutes with the acupuncture needles being administered. While you lay with the needles in, Jade will guide you through a meditation.
4:45pm: 30 minutes allowing you time to come round after the acupuncture, take toilet breaks with mugwort tea for refreshments. Mugwort is a herbal remedy and can be used to help ease conditions like anxiety with a calming effect.
5:15pm: 75 minutes of yin yoga - where a series of yin yoga positions will be held between 3-7 minutes. Supportive props will be available to ensure accessible to all, while you surrender to gravity, focus on your breath and settle into each pose. Each pose will compliment the meridians Sarah activates with the acupuncture to assist with this final state of class, where you will sink deeper into a parasympathetic state.
