Sanskrit is the language of yoga and light—a vibrational bridge connecting humanity with divinity and pure awareness. Yet, its mystical capacity is often overlooked in modern yoga. By embracing its sacred sounds, one can heal, align, and move with greater grace and ease. Each vibration supports transformation, helping us overcome apara (unserving) beliefs.
Mantras are highly tuned patterns of elevated consciousness, formulated using these potent Sanskrit sounds. They are both practical and profound in result. The word mantra comes from manas (mind) and trai (to free)—and through heartfelt recitation, mantra expands consciousness, dissolves conditioning, and clears the veils of illusion. Mantra reawakens inner joy, enriches life, and connects you to your true self.
Have you experienced the joy of chanting with others and want more? Join April for this rich and integrative immersion, an excellent foundation for ALL yoga practitioners and teachers.
In this immersion, you will:
✨ Strengthen your capacity to carry the energy of mantra
✨ Learn to chant the Sanskrit alphabet with proper pronunciation (using Roman characters)
✨ Uncover the authentic meaning of mantra and how modern yoga falls short in its exploration
✨ Explore the responsible use of sound in yogic practice
✨ Understand the difference between Vedic chanting and singing/kīrtan (this will surprise you!)
✨ Learn several Vedic mantras with proper pronunciation and intonation (svaras)
✨ Work with Bija Mantras—understanding their purpose, application, and appropriate use
✨ Awaken Mantra Shakti and understand its importance as both a practitioner and teacher
✨ Immerse in the yogic tradition more fully and step away from appropriation
This training counts as 22 hours towards Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Upgrades.
