During Yoga Nidra, also referred to as yogic sleep, a person enters a state of non-doing in which transformation happens from beyond the mind. In this deep state of meditation, one can restore and rejuvenate the body, heal from illness, and re-wire the brain for greater emotional balance. During the session, the practitioner rests in a comfortable savasana position while receiving verbal instructions on the practice of Yoga Nidra and the intention of its use. Through this powerful transformational practice, one balances the autonomic nervous system and releases tension and pain. Yoga Nidra is designed to disconnect from the thinking mind and reconnect with feeling the body.
