Yoga Nidra: The Significance of Trees

Hi! I’m Veda Cafazzo, your Yoga Nidra guide, and I’d like to ask you a few questions. Have you practiced Yoga Nidra before and want to again? Have you heard of Yoga Nidra and would like to give it a try? What am I even talking about?
We seem to have forgotten how to relax, and Yoga Nidra (YN) can help you relearn. YN is a highly structured way to achieve deep relaxation of the mind, body, and spirit. Our session will begin with breathwork and a brief yoga asana practice. Next, you’ll come into a comfortable resting pose. You’ll settle in, and set an intention. Then, I’ll help you rotate your consciousness throughout the body, and return to breath awareness. Following that, you’ll investigate opposites, a useful tool to help you learn to experience, rather than judge or react. I’ll next guide you through visualization, inducing mental relaxation by waking the memory. For today’s session, I’ll introduce terms that speak to the meaning of trees in yogic philosophy. Following this, you’ll be ready to reinforce your intention. Finally, in a gentle and mindful manner, I’ll draw you out of Yoga Nidra. Maybe you’ll share what happened during your trip inward, or maybe you’ll keep it inside. No matter what, you’ll be mentally, physically, and spiritually refreshed, and a little more in touch with yourself.
