Yoga Nidra, often called "yogic sleep," is a deeply restorative meditation practice that guides you into a state of conscious relaxation between waking and sleeping. Unlike traditional yoga that involves physical postures, Yoga Nidra is practiced lying down comfortably while following spoken instructions that systematically relax your body and mind.
You'll be guided through a series of gentle awareness exercises. These might include body scanning (noticing different parts of your body), breath awareness, visualization, and setting positive intentions.
The practice creates a profound state of relaxation while maintaining a thread of conscious awareness, allowing you to access deeper layers of rest than typical sleep.
You don't need any prior meditation experience, physical flexibility, or special equipment. The practice is suitable for people of all ages and physical abilities, making it an inclusive form of wellness that anyone can enjoy and benefit from.
Bolsters and blankets provided - feel free to bring your favorite pillow!
While Yoga Nidra is best performed in a supine position - chairs are available for those who cannot lie down on the floor - just let us know when you register!
