Yoga Nidra translates into “yogic sleep”, and is a simple yet powerful practice of relaxation. This is a guided meditation that is practiced lying down in complete comfort. The body relaxes deeply while the mind stays gently aware, moving through stages of breath, body scan, and visualization. It’s a practice that can aid in relieving stress in the body and mind, restore energy, and balance the nervous system. It is studied that an hour of a Yoga Nidra practice can have the effect of 4-5 hours of quality sleep. You should leave the practice feeling rested, calm, clear, and renewed.This practice will follow directly after our regularly scheduled yin practice so it could be lovely opportunity to consider a double header of slow healing practices.
