What is this event about?
Stress can be real or imaginary. How we choose to 'perceive' a life situation or person will determine if that will become stress-full or not. If the stress-full situation or person is activated in our minds, then the brain will talk to the nervous system and it will react to the stress whether real or imaginary.
What we want to address is not the real stressors as much as the imaginary ones because people today are suffering unncessarily due to the imaginary stories that the mind fabricates and makes us feel stressed out. The good news is that it doesn't have to be like this!
What people should try to do is take a little time to bettter understand the 'users manual' about THEMSELVES. We spend a lot of time bettering our work skills, but what about better understanding and controlling what makes YOU tick. For example, why do certain things stress you out, but not other people? How can you be more calm and centered in dealing with stressful situations? We need to understand some basics about our brain, nervous system and minds since this can release burdens from us and let us live in more balance.
Enter YOGA NIDRA. Yoga Nidra is an effortless practice where you lie down, close your eyes and just listen without trying as the teacher guides you through various relaxation/rest techniques, breath awareness techniques, experiencing of opposite sensations and emotions and visualisations or journeys that will enable you to rest deeply and develop a 'friendlier' relationship with your mind. This will effect your brain and nervous system in positive ways.
Together, we'll discuss how Yoga Nidra effects the brain, nervous system and mind. We'll also implement a few simple exercises to slow down your brain waves since this is what is needed to bring true 'balance' to your overall well-being. Breath techniques will also be practiced before you are guided at the end of this event into a full Yoga Nidra practice that focuses on transforming the relationship we have with our body, mind and emotions.
No Yoga Nidra experience is needed to benefit from this event, but an open mind to better understanding our 'users manual' is helpful :)
