Please join Shanna Behrje in the historic barn for this monthly community offering. Yoga Nidra will be offered for free or by donation on the first Wednesday of each month.
Yoga Nidra, defined as “yogic sleep,” can be practiced at any time of day and by anyone. This guided meditation practice is done in a resting position, and it is said that one session of Yoga Nidra (approximately 40 minutes) is equivalent to three hours of sleep!
During a Yoga Nidra session, the goal is to encourage a relaxation response in the body. Allowing our body and mind to rest restores this response, deepening the breath, relaxing muscle tension, and easing our reactions to life’s stressors.
Some sessions may begin with gentle movement, suitable for all.
