The Yoga Foundations Workshop was created to help new students understand what yoga is starting with learning how to practice the most common poses in many yoga class styles. We’ll also touch base on other aspects of yoga such as breathwork, and vinyasa flows, and what other different styles of yoga there are!
This class will teach you how to:
-Practice common yoga poses
-Increase mobility, flexibility, and strength endurance to live with less daily pain
-Gain confidence attending more classes and practicing alongside mixed-level yoga students
-Develop an understanding of the origins of yoga and what it is beside the physical practice
-Use yoga as a practice for relaxation and stress reduction
What we’ll cover in the 90 minutes together!
What is Yoga and what are the different style of classes?
-Yoga props
-Sanskrit, Pranayama (breathwork), Savasana (final rest)
-What hands-on adjustments look like in a yoga class
-Students will move through common yoga poses, Sun Salutation variations, and end with more restorative/Yin yoga poses
This is a workshop-style class. Meaning, we will be breaking things down and you’ll have a chance to explore poses, props, and your newfound practice! Mimi will also allow time for free exploration while she moves around the room to help students individually with any necessary adjustments/modifications.
You’ll also take home a handout packet with all of the information we go over in this workshop plus a Yoga Journal for you to track your new practice and narrow down what style classes you tend to enjoy the most!
By the end of this workshop, you’ll have a better understanding of what yoga is and have confidence in stepping into a beginner or mixed level yoga class!

So, just about anyone can benefit from a beginner yoga course!
Who is this NOT for?
This workshop is not ideal for:
-Those who cannot get on and off the floor (Look for my chair yoga classes to attend!)
-Those with medical conditions not cleared by their doctor to practice yoga or other exercise programs.
-You’re not interested in incorporating meditation or breathwork along with physical poses into your wellness practice
