In this workshop, you will learn what the nervous system is and how it functions. You will learn to identify signs of a dysregulated nervous system and how to treat imbalances within the autonomic nervous system, specifically.
You will learn about the polyvagal theory (and the vagus nerve) and how to identify various states of the nervous system (e.g., fight, flight, freeze) within yourself. You will discover ways to apply this knowledge to help you cultivate a sense of ease in your body, enhance your capacity to handle stress/challenges with equanimity, and improve your ability to recover from stress swiftly and efficiently.
The workshop will include a yoga practice that encompasses conscious breathing, vagal toning, mindful movement, and meditation.
