About this Event

Are you hypermobile? Do you find yourself somehow always injuring yourself no matter what type of movement practice you get into? For those of us with “spicy” joints, yoga can feel exciting as we are able to use our expanded joint range to go more “deeply” into stretches and postures (and hey, it can make for good party tricks). However, this can also lead to an imbalance in muscle strength, muscle tightness (yes, you can be hypermobile and not flexible), and often navigating aches, pains, and injury. This workshop will help you understand how to use your yoga practice to strengthen and stabilize the areas around your joints and move in ways that are more supportive for longevity in your practice and life. We will talk about how hypermobility expresses itself, how to move through chronic pain flare ups, and how to accommodate your yoga practice to support your joints. Come play!
