About this Event
"Yoga" - when you hear this word what images come to mind? Twenty-something models with perfect bodies scantily dressed and maneuvering their beautiful physiques into unimaginable poses. Well, believe it or not, yoga is a great gateway activity for the unathletic who are seeking to gain greater physical conditioning.
Even if you have never exercised before, yoga can be the perfect place to start. In this two-part session, you will learn yoga's history, types, scientifically proven benefits, etiquette, and vocabulary. In addition, during the second half, we will practice basic poses, so everyone is ready to comfortably attend their first yoga class at any fitness facility.
Come start your yoga journey or just go more in-depth with what you already know about this life-long fitness activity that is accessible to everyone. Stretch out and relax for credit!!!
Please bring a yoga mat and wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothing to allow a full range of motion for poses.
This class is part of the IEA CTL's Bite-size Learning Series. Once you've attended and fully participated in 7.5 hours of class time in the Learning Series and completed the coursework, you can earn a free credit from ISU.
