Yoga for Body Reconnection
A Pay-What-You-Can Class for Healing, Awareness, and Self-Acceptance
Join us for a gentle, trauma-informed yoga class designed to support those navigating the effects of trauma, stress, body image challenges, or emotional overwhelm. You don’t need to have any prior yoga experience—only a willingness to explore how movement, breath, and stillness can support your healing journey.
This space centers on choice, consent, and curiosity—offering a compassionate approach to reconnecting with your body in a way that feels safe, empowering, and deeply personal.
💠 What to Expect
Choice + Consent
All language is invitational, never directive. You are always the expert on your body. I offer suggestions—not commands—and you decide what feels right for you in the moment.
Predictable, Safe Environment
The setup is always the same. I stay in one spot throughout the class. This consistency supports your nervous system, helping to build trust and a sense of safety.
Time + Space to Feel
Shapes and movements are held for longer durations, allowing sensations to settle and move through your system at your pace—without pressure or rush.
Subtle, Somatic Movement
Rooted in somatic principles, this class gently supports your vagus nerve and fascia. You don’t need to understand the science—just show up and let your body lead the way.
💠 Why Yoga for Trauma + Body Image?
Many powerful voices in trauma healing and yoga philosophy remind us that healing isn’t about performing poses—it’s about presence, awareness, and the courage to feel.
Yoga offers a way to:
Cultivate interoceptive awareness—the ability to sense what’s happening inside your body.
Shift from fear to curiosity in your relationship with your body.
Learn to tolerate and process emotions like anger, shame, or vulnerability without being overwhelmed.
Reclaim a sense of ownership and safety in your body.
"The feeling within a pose is more important than how it looks. Yoga is not about flexibility—it’s about self-acceptance."
— Inspired by trauma-informed and yogic teachings
💠 Who Is This Class For?
Anyone healing from trauma or stress
Those who feel disconnected from or at odds with their body
People facing burnout or emotional overwhelm
Anyone seeking a gentler, more compassionate yoga practice
There is no need to share or disclose your trauma. This class is a private, inward experience—guided, but never intrusive.
💠 Logistics & Accessibility
Cost: Pay-what-you-can
Experience Level: No yoga experience needed
What to Bring: A mat (if you have one), comfortable clothes, and anything else that helps you feel safe and supported
How to Join: Class space is limited, it can be helpful to preregister through the provided link.
💠 In Their Words...
“Many participants shared the empowering realization that they have ownership and control over their bodies, as well as a greater ability to acknowledge, tolerate, and confront emotions that previously felt overwhelming—such as anger, shame, or vulnerability.”
— West et al. (2016)
“Research shows that yoga practices emphasizing interoceptive awareness, without external correction, can help trauma survivors reconnect with their bodies—by as much as 45% improvement in body awareness.”
— Price & Hooven (2018)
This is more than a class—it’s a space for healing, softness, and discovery. You’re welcome exactly as you are.
