Yoga for Emotional Intelligence, Yoga EQ, is an embodied Social Emotional Learning program that shows students how to address tough emotional situations, process these experiences, and relate to their peers. Students learn how to identify emotions in the body through meditation and how to shift mood with movement. It is taught in schools, recovery programs, and beyond!
Whether you plan to work with adults, children, families, or simply deepen your own journey, we hope that you will carry with you the central teaching- emotional health is an inside job. This training will require you to look within, to explore old patterns, habits, and biases, and to break through the blocks and barriers that are holding you back.
This program will give you amazing gifts if you are willing and ready to receive them. You will leave this course equipped with the tools needed to teach Yoga EQ in recovery facilities, community centers, and beyond. In your time with us, you will learn to:
- Describe the five components of Emotional Intelligence
- Appreciate the role of Social and Emotional Learning in recovery, prevention, and everyday life
- Experience the power of yoga and meditation practices in recognizing and managing emotions and connecting to others
- Describe the appropriate roles and functions of a Yoga EQ teacher
- Build and practice trauma-informed teaching skills
- Build a Yoga EQ Class
- Increase awareness of trauma, stigma, risk and protective factors
- Access your inner child and embody the practice of having fun
