Yoga and the Aging Brain
How can we use MediYoga to develop gracefully in mind and body? What are some of the practices we can use to aid in grounding our sense of presence, whether we are young or old? Meditation and yoga has been found to reverse the aging of the brain, all the way down to genetic level, increasing cognitive function and memory, as well as bloodflow through the brain.
Join us in this second workshop for a guided MediYoga and meditation practice with MediYoga teacher and therapist Anne Siri and a scientific discussion with clinical specialist in Spirituality Mind-Body Pain Medicine Charles E. Paccione. There will also be time for Q&A.
Workshop 1: Sunday March 7th at 11:00-13:30
The Vagus Nerve- MediYoga and the Science of Psychophysiological Fitness in Times of Stress
What is the vagus nerve and how can we use our practice of yoga to enhance its activity? In this workshop we will explore how to utilize our practice of MediYoga, mindfulness, and the breath to target our vagus nerve and optimize the health of our mind and body. This workshop session will begin with a guided MediYoga practice session by MediYoga teacher and therapist Frida Storholt followed by a discussion about the vagus nerve and psychophysiological health by clinical specialist in Spirituality Mind-Body Pain Medicine Charles E. Paccione. There will also be time for Q&A.

Workshop 3: Sunday May 30th at 11:00-13:30
Yoga and Mental Health
COVID has led to an increase in psychological distress (sleep loss, anxiety, depression) for many of us. How can MediYoga have a positive affect on our mind, behavior, actions, and thoughts? Join us for the last session of this tri-part workshop series with MediYoga teacher and therapist Frida and
clinical specialist in Spirituality Mind-Body Pain Medicine Charles to practice a soft movement and relaxation-based yogasession and discuss the science behind the practice. There will also be time for Q&A.
