Do you want to start a yoga practice, but don’t know where to begin?
Do you know someone, like a friend, partner, or family member, who could benefit from a yoga practice but they don’t think they are capable of doing yoga?
Maybe you have a regular yoga practice and want to reconnect with the basics of the practice?
Yoga 101 is a 4-part series that will provide participants with all the tools and confidence to explore the benefits of yoga and establish a foundation for practice.
This series offers an opportunity to learn or review the basic poses, as well as to get to know how to make the practice fit your unique physicality – we are all different and there is room in each pose to explore and have fun. Each session of the series will build on the previous one, and include yogic breathing techniques (pranayama) and meditation for a well-rounded practice. Students will also have access to a variety of props and will learn how to use them to support, change, and/or amplify the benefits of various techniques.
Topics covered:
Basic poses (Asanas) including Sun Salutations
Breathwork (Pranayama)
Meditation
Use of props
Principles of yoga philosophy and basic anatomy
Each 2-hour session will consist of practice, discussion and exchange of knowledge.
Please bring a notepad, a pen and a yoga mat (if you have one), and dress in layers.

Investment: The fee covers 8 hours of class instruction, videos for home practice, handouts and 2 class passes for any regular class offerings at MountainGoat Yoga
