Young Musicians Forum presents the piano duo ensemble of HaEun Yang and Dongwon Shin in a FREE concert on Sunday, Nov. 23
Schenectady, NY –
Young Musicians Forum will present the piano duo ensemble of HaEun Yang and Dongwon Shin (from the renowned Eastman School of Music in
Rochester) in a FREE concert on Sunday, Nov. 23 at the Schenectady County Public
Library (99 Clinton St., downtown Schenectady).
Their program of four hand music includes works by Bach, Dvorak, Mozart, Ravel, Pesca, and Tchaikovsky.
A native of South Korea, HaEun Yang is currently a candidate for the Doctor of
Musical Arts in Piano Performance and Literature at the renowned Eastman School of Music in Rochester. She has won top prizes in numerous competitions and her solo debut was at Carnegie Hall; currently she holds the position of full-time Secondary Piano Teaching Assistant for Eastman and the University of Rochester students. Recently Yang was awarded the 2022-2023 Teaching Assistant Prize for Excellence in Teaching at Eastman.
Also a native of South Korea, Dongwon Shin has performed extensively as a soloist and collaborative pianist across the U.S., Asia, and Europe. He has won top prizes
in several international competitions. He has presented piano chamber works by living female composers at national conferences. Shin is currently a candidate for the Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance and Literature at Eastman and is an Adjunct Piano Faculty member at SUNY Onondaga in Syracuse.
For over 25 years the Young Musicians Forum has been presenting free concerts
by exceptional musicians preparing for careers in classical music. Graduate students from prominent Music Schools have traditionally performed in these concerts; in recent years YMF has also begun to showcase some very talented local young musicians.
