1. In 2019 an iron meteorite was filed to dust, stirred into cream, and fed to 36 people. Flis’s uterus was rife with tumours soon after. Their 2021 video "Subserotic Bulge" tracks what happened next. It asks about diagnosis, and how certain people’s testimony is dismissed as unreliable. For this show, Flis rendered their MRI scan data as a plastic 3D-model of their unearthly tumours. A handheld souvenir for when their uterus no longer carries them.
2. “Now it is the pandemic year 2021. I am in a fell in the northern hemisphere in Finnish Lapland. I open the satellite tracking application and select a moving point on the screen, confirm the direction, and try to walk for a short time with that moving point. The vertical distance to it is over 200 kilometers. Golden foil protects it. I am wearing a red hoodie.” Satellite is a pas-de-deux with eleven artificial moons. It is part of Simo’s artistic postdoc project xeno/exo/astro-choreoreadings, which looks into what kind of corporeality and choreographic art arises when movement escapes immediate perception, and the notions of space and place taken up by the human body extend towards outer space. xeno/exo/astro-choreoreadings amplifies the history of place-sensitive choreographic art from the planetary conditions towards the interplanetary culture.
3. 'Trip to the Moon' (1996) is an experimental video about plunging into the structures of the surface. The means: a gradually enlarged print of the moon, 16mm film animation, and video effects.

FLIS HOLLAND (FI/UK, they/them) uses sci-fi to talk about crisis and to explore new kinds of relationality. Recent works include a video "Subserotic Bulge", a performance series "Gravity Doesn’t Keep You Down I Do", and a residency at Triangle in New York to research asteroid strike simulations. They are supported by Koneen säätiö. www.flisholland.live
SIMO KELLOKUMPU is a Finnish choreographer and researcher born in Lapland and based in Helsinki. Simo’s artworks examine the choreographic relations between corporeality and materiality in various scales and contexts, meanwhile exploring the entanglement of contemporary speculative fiction, interplanetary culture, and queer(ing) space. www.simokellokumpu.org
