YLA Parent / Applicant Informational Meeting for:

28 slots available for Southern Nevada Devil Pups
23 males
5 females
All SO. Nevada Devil Pup applicants must QUALIFY through
1. 10-week preliminary training program
2. Qualifying 175 score PFT 3. 24 hours of Community Service.
3. Must be able to run 1 mile
4. Males must be able to do 2 pull ups
ALL YLA/SNDP participants that attend the 10-week physical training and community service program at Sunset Park WILL have the opportunity to attend one of the following:
1. Devil Pups Encampment IF Devil Pups hosts it AND IF they qualify physically through a PFT . This PFT will be completed during the 10-week program

Devil Pups Criteria
Who Can Attend? Any Healthy Teenage Boy or Girl
(Devil Pups ages 14-17 ) ( No asthma for Devil Pups please)
Who can Attend Devil Pups: ANY HEALTHY MALE OR FEMALE, ages 14-17. All teen must attend this Informational meeting with a parent or guardian to attend the Devil Pups encampment.
What is Devil Pups?
It is a 10-day encampment held at Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base that teaches self-confidence, teamwork, motivation, goal-setting and tact. Our training builds character and integrity and teaches teens to take responsibility for one’s own actions and future.

At the encampment, you will be trained by the United States Marines and often we have Recon Marines and Navy Seals make special visits. You will sleep in the barracks, eat in the mess hall, work with your platoon everyday on team-building exercises, listen to motivational speakers, jump off towers into pools, participate in obstacle courses, climb large mountains and much more.
Devil Pups is a leadership camp designed to help teen age boys and girls, ages, 14-17, to be the best citizen they can be, no matter what career path they take. Devil Pups has been in existence since 1954 - That is 66 years!
Prior to the encampment, Southern Nevada Devil Pups which is a division of (YLA) Youth Leadership Authority.
YLA and its Physical Training Instructors (US Marines) physically train and motivate all applicants during a 10-week preliminary training program.
YLA will prepare the applicants for the encampment using many of the same techniques, exercises, and tools needed for them to be successful at the encampment.
Attendance at the 10 week training program is mandatory to earn your seat on the bus to Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base.

Training begins on May 11th at Sunset Park with the United States Marines/ YLA Instructors and our volunteer team.
*Training will continue every Saturday through mid-July when the qualified applicants will be selected to attend the encampment
All participants will also be required to attend all of our community service events to "pay it forward" to the community who so generously pays fees for you to attend the Devil Pups encampment and 10- week training Program and 10-week program.
Devil Pups ONLY - Cost is $1,000.00 per pup. This is paid by sponsors.

$3,800.00 paid by sponsors with completed and approved financial assistance application - Mostly paid by scholarships by Gene Haas and AC Pro

Note: Parents are responsible to pay application ($125.00) and Uniform fees ($75.00).
10- week physical training and community service program begins May 11th at Sunset Park- application will be handed out at this Informational Meeting.
*Cost for 10-week program ONLY is only $800.00 per applicant IF participant is not attending Devil Pups encampment
*Financial Assistance is available to those who qualify- **must fill out Financial Assistance Application (FAA)
Parent Costs
1. All Program attendees pay $125.00 application fee
2. All Program attendees must purchase SNDP/YLA Uniform for $75.00
Non Devil Pup encampment students
3. $500.00 10 week fee IF they do not qualify for financial assistance.
Can pay in 4 payments
