What: This unique class combines the benefits of Yin Yoga with a meditative singing bowl sound bath. Yin Yoga involves holding floor-based yoga poses for three to seven minutes to target deep connective tissues (fascia, ligaments, joints) rather than muscles, promoting flexibility, releasing stored tension/emotions, and improving meditation readiness through passive, relaxed holds that encourage gravity to deepen the stretch, unlike active yoga styles. A sound bath is a meditative experience where participants are bathed in the soothing sounds and vibrations produced by singing bowls.
No prior yoga experience needed.
Why: To calm your parasympathetic nervous system, reduce stress, improve flexibility, and cultivate mindfulness through long, passive holds on the floor. Deep stretches balance active (yang) practices, release deep-seated tension, boost circulation, and help you learn to sit with discomfort, while fostering self-awareness. Come as you are! No special clothing is needed; dress in loose, comfortable clothing. All equipment will be provided: mats, blocks, bolsters, straps, and blankets, but you are welcome to bring your own if preferred.
