About Andrew Fredericks

Teacher of Teachers. Guide to Stillness. Student of the Body. RYT500

For the past decade, Andrew Fredericks, has been showing up to the mat—and showing others how to do the same. With over 700 hours of public classes and more than 1000 hours spent training yoga teachers, Andrew has developed a rare gift: the ability to make the complex feel simple, and the simple feel profound in Yin Yoga

His teaching journey spans 10 years, with 8 of those dedicated to training the next generation of teachers. This unique perspective means Andrew doesn't just teach yoga—he tries to understand the questions you haven't even asked yet, the curiosities that arise in stillness, and the resistance that shows up when we're invited to slow down.

Training & Lineage:

Andrew's approach is built on a foundation of deep study across multiple modalities:

  • Yin Yoga – The art of patience, passive holding
  • Somatic Yoga – Movement as a conversation with your nervous system
  • Trauma-Informed Practice – Creating safety in the body first
  • Advanced Anatomy – Understanding the "why" behind the practice
  • Pranayama & Consciousness – Breath as a bridge to awareness

Over 8 years of continuous training, Andrew has woven these threads into a teaching style that honors the body's intelligence rather than imposing external ideals.

Teaching Philosophy:

Andrew's approach is refreshingly undramatic: bring the pose to your body, not your body to the pose.

There are no hands-on adjustments, no forcing, no pressure to look a certain way. Just acceptance. Just breath. Just the radical invitation to explore what effortless strength actually feels like.

His years of training teachers means he's fluent in the language of doubt, curiosity, and breakthrough—he knows where students get stuck, and more importantly, how to help them get unstuck without pushing.

The Energy He Brings:

If you've ever felt like yoga wasn't "for you" because you're not flexible enough, calm enough, or spiritual enough—Andrew's class is where that story gets rewritten. His energy is one of unconditional acceptance: come as you are, move at your own pace, and discover that stillness isn't about perfection. It's about permission.

Whether you're a complete beginner or someone who's been practicing for years, Andrew meets you exactly where you are—and helps you meet yourself there too.
