About this Event
Yin Yoga, Sound Bath, & Koshi Chime Shower presented by Jan Johnson
This enchanting sound bath of Tibetan and Crystal bowls, Koshi chimes, and an array of healing sound instruments, illuminates the season slipping into winter. This bath provides a perfect opportunity to turn inward, release and wind down. You will have the chance to let go of lingering stresses and tensions, and return to the gentleness of your authentic self. Come, immerse yourself in soothing sounds, and absorb the restful energies of Winter.
What's a sound bath? Music and meditation together, a sound bath is a guided meditative experience where those in attendance are “bathed” in sound waves. Sound waves at different frequencies are used to realign the cells in your body to their natural and optimal vibrational state.
What do I bring? Bring everything you need to stay warm and comfy - yoga mat, blanket, pillow, and water. If you prefer to sit rather than lie down, you are welcome to do so. Typically, to fully enjoy a sound bath, one will close their eyes, absorbing the experience auditorily and physically.
Sound Bath and Koshi Chime Shower? Singing Bowls produce a sound that can invoke deep stages of relaxation and are often used in meditation for stress reduction. I often blend yin yoga with the bath to create a sublime experience for all. These sessions begin with gentle guidance to quiet the mind and center the body. I play at least 7 bowls, 4 Koshi chimes, and quite often the addition of an African rain stick as well as other “sound “ modalities to enhance your experience.
The bowls each have its own frequency to create a sound bath immersion for your whole being. The chimes resonate with the four element : Earth, Water, Fire and Air.
The sounds the bowls create encourages brain waves to alter and deepen relaxation and rest. You may in fact, find yourself experiencing an altered state of being, you may fall asleep, or even dip into a deep meditative place between awake and asleep.
Singing Bowls produce a sound that can invoke deep stages of relaxation and are often used in meditation and for stress reduction. Beginning with some gentle breath guidance to help calm the mind and center the body, each participant will then experience a relaxing Yin Yoga sequence that will help to connect with the physical body. As the singing bowls begin to “speak” each participants will find their connection to their energetic bodies and find comfort in mind, body and spirit
