This 60 minute Yin/ Yoga Nidra Class is excellent for students looking for a meditative practice with an aspect of physical and mental restoration and rejuvenation. This practice of Surrender is where we gently stretch and rehabilitate the connective tissues that form our joints while focusing on the cultivation of long (1-3 minute) holds in postures to stretch and open the tissues of the body and cultivate the flow of fluid and energy (chi or prana) through the body. IAM Yoga Nidra is an ancient sleep-based meditation technique that has the power to take you to the innermost, deepest levels of relaxation where your whole body and being is permeated by peace of mind and profound stillness. It unlocks the mystical, integrative powers of the subconscious, as well as your higher centers of consciousness, to effortlessly erase your most tenacious, self-destructive habits and behavior patterns. More than a relaxation, IAM Yoga Nidra is designed as a meditation technique that not only relaxes the body but creates a different relationship with stress producing thoughts and emotions. It is designed to guide the practitioner to recognize the silent place of being that always resides within us. This method focuses primarily on quieting the mind and boosting the energy flow in the body (prana).
