A slower paced balancing and introspective yoga class, Yin works deeper into joints and connective tissue with passive, supported and longer-held postures supported by props between 3 - 10 minutes.
Introducing Traditional Chinese Medicine to balance Qi and energetic meridian lines, this is a a full length Yin Yoga sequence to recognise and celebrate the changing season, harvest and Mabon, as well as the Autumn Equinox.
A time of balance, being more contemplative and give thanks for the earths provision to us through the summer. A few props may be needed like a bolster and blocks to fill space between you and the earth.
Aiming to find stillness in mind and body as you work toward your edge, we close with a Yoga Nidra which is a Yogic sleep, for balance and restoration. Yoga Nidra or Yogic Sleep is a state of consciousness between being awake and asleep. It encourages the release of stress and the release of negative feelings in a kind and gentle way. Yoga Nidra is an efficient method of inducing complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation while maintaining consciousness. At times you may feel very aware of whats being said, at other times, you may feel like you’ve drifted off. Yoga Nidra goes through layers of consciousness and 20mins is said to be the equivalent to a 4hr deep sleep.
