Most styles of yoga practised in the West are what's known as 'yang', i.e. fast-paced and focused on muscular strength and flexibility. While there is nothing wrong with yang styles of yoga, it is equally important to focus on your deep connective tissues, e.g. your fascia, ligaments, joints and bones. This is where yin yoga comes in - a very slow, meditative practice which gives you the opportunity to turn inward and tune into both your mind and the physical sensations of your body. If you are a yoga teacher or a teacher trainee, this 50-hour teacher training course (once a week on Saturdays for 5 weeks) will give you a comprehensive introduction to the fundamentals of yin yogaand how to teach it with confidence. This course will cover:
- What is Yin Yoga?
- The history of Yin Yoga
- The principles of Yin Yoga
- Introduction to meridian theory
- The anatomy of Yin
- Yin asanas
- Creative Yin Yoga sequencing
