🌸Need a gift for Mum? - Join us for a special event at Yoga Maya Kalamunda, where Keith, Yoga Maya's co-owner and founder, will lead you through a luxurious soft and prop supported 45-minute Yin practice, guiding you into the work of introspection, softening and yielding into your supports encouraging you to follow your bliss. The slow but deliberate nature of Yin Yoga, with fewer postures held for longer periods of time, will invite you to turn inward, yielding to the quiet resolve within, releasing physical tension, and surrendering into stillness.
During the session, Susie, owner of Ripple Effect Therapies, will support the body's immersion into a blissful state of deep awareness and restoration. She will use a variety of Crystal Bowls, handmade Tibetan Singing Bowls, Gongs, Sacred Solfeggio tuning forks, and other instruments to enhance the healing experience.
This 90-minute healing experience combines Yin Yoga with the therapeutic effects of sound healing and vibration. Supported by scientific research, sound healing's basic principle is that all matter is energy in a constant state of vibration. Sound has the ability to assist the brain in releasing different neurochemicals and hormones, guiding our brains into a state of entrainment and Alpha and Theta wave activity. This slows the heart rate, increases relaxation, lowers blood pressure, and eases anxiety, depression, stress, and exhaustion.
The event is open to everybody, even those who have not practiced Yin before. Chairs are available upon request, and the practice will be gentle, accessible, and mostly stationary, using the support of yoga props. Feel free to bring your own cushions and blankets for added comfort.
