Want to run off that Christmas turkey? It's race time and the YHA Borrowdale King of the Castle race is back for 2026! What started as banter between hostel staff to see who can summit Castle Crag the fastest, has transformed into an annual sufferfest to see in the new year!
Come and join us on Sunday 4th January for an uphill short and steep grind up the smallest Wainwright. ⛰
For newbies: the KOTC is a time trail format starting with one hand in the hostel bar and finishing at the war memorial on the summit of Castle Crag.
Make your way back to Borrowdale YHA for post-race tea, coffee and cake 🏃🏻
