About this Event

With 40 days to Paris 2024, get into the Olympic mind set and join us on the roof terrace of St James's Place Wealth Management for a spectacular summertime event supporting YES Charity, empowering young people in disadvantaged London communities through sport.

The evening will feature an engaging panel discussion with six Olympians from four different sports. Enjoy refreshments, canapés, and music as we celebrate this wonderful cause.

This event is kindly supported by St James's Place Wealth Management, Neil Chugani, Eden Park, Low Rise Beer, and Forest Estate Wines.

PANELLISTS:

JESSICA EDDIE
GBR Rowing Silver medallist (2008, 2012, 2016)
Jess is a three time Olympian, Sports broadcaster and AI Strategist. Having rowed at the Beijing, London and Rio Games, she and her crew went on to become European Champions in 2016 and Olympic Silver medallists (Rio 2016 GBR Women’s 8), Jess is an active member of the rowing community being elected a Steward of Henley Royal Regatta and patron to multiple sporting charities.

After retiring from rowing, Jess went on to work as a Curator at the V&A museum, specialising in 18th century furniture, gold and silver.

Her current role is an AI Strategist for J.P. Morgan Chase, after pivoting into the new challenge of finance.

MOHAMED SBIHI
GBR Rowing Bronze and Gold medallist (2012, 2016, 2020)

English born of Moroccan descent, Moe can speak a dialect of Arabic and is British Rowings first practicing muslim athlete.

Sbihi is a graduate of the GB Rowing Team Start programme, representing GB at Junior and U23 level, before embarking on a long career at the elite level.

Known to all in the rowing world as Moe, his collection of international titles includes Bronze medals in the men's eight at both the London 2012 and Tokyo 2020 games, as well as part of the men’s four that won gold at Rio 2016. His illustrious career includes successive World Championships titles, and European crowns.

Moe was awarded an MBE for services to rowing in 2017 and was selected as one of two flag bearers for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and has now switched to a career in finance working for JP Morgan.

HANNAH MACLEOD
GBR Hockey Bronze and Gold medallist (2012, 2016)

Hannah MacLeod is a double Olympic medallist, with the record-breaking Great Britain Women’s hockey team. A career that culminated in winning Gold at the 2016 Rio Olympics. She now works as a People and Change consultant at PA Consulting focusing on developing leadership capabilities, shaping culture and building high-performing teams for clients across the private and public sectors.

Hannah went on to become an integral member of the England and Great Britain hockey team that progressed from 8th in the world in 2009 to winning Gold at the Rio Olympics for the first time in their history. Hannah was also part of the team that won Gold at the European Championships in 2015 and Bronze at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. However, she also experienced significant set-backs with the team in 2014 when they finished 11th at the World Cup – 18 months prior to the Rio Olympics.

She has a doctorate in Environmental Exercise Physiology and was awarded an MBE for services to her sport in 2017. She has co-authored a book titled Take Control of your Confidence.


JAMES RODWELL
GBR Rugby Sevens Silver medallist (2016)

James Rodwell is a renowned rugby sevens player with an illustrious career spanning over a decade, and has cemented his place as one of the most respected figures in the world of rugby sevens.

Rodwell's prowess on the rugby field became evident during his tenure with the England national rugby sevens team. He made his debut for the team in 2008 and became a mainstay in the squad for years to come. Known for his exceptional speed, agility, and defensive skills, Rodwell played a pivotal role in England's success on the international stage.

Rodwell made his Olympic debut in 2016, with Rugby Sevens making its debut at the same Olympics. Rodwell was part of this team that created history for GB by achieving an outstanding silver medal.

Throughout his career, Rodwell has competed in numerous prestigious tournaments, including the World Rugby Sevens Series and the Rugby World Cup Sevens. His performances have earned him widespread acclaim from fans and peers alike.

REBECCA SCOWN
NZL Rowing Bronze and Silver medallist (2012, 2016)

Rebecca arrived in the UK in 2019 to embark on a career change after spending 12 years at the elite level of rowing for New Zealand. She took up the role of CEO of Youth Experience in Sport, where she is focused on growing the charity to increase opportunities for disadvantaged young people to play and learn through sport.

Her sporting achievements include a Bronze medal in the London Olympics and Silver in the Rio Olympic Games in the pair, as well as achieving 4th place in the Eight. These results complement her nine World Championship medals, including two World titles, attained before Rebecca retired at the end of the 2017 World Championships.
