Join us for a hands-on dive into the amazing muscle that keeps you alive—your heart! In this interactive STEAM Lab, kids will explore how their own hearts work by measuring their pulse, collecting real data, and discovering how exercise changes heart rate. Then participants will build a colorful inflatable heart model using straws, pipe cleaners, and a zipper bag to see how the heart pumps—right before their eyes!Along the way, we’ll learn the basics of heart anatomy, how blood moves through the body, and why the heart beats faster during activity. This lively session uses movement, data collection, and model-building to bring human biology to life.
This STEAM Lab is designed for kids in grades 2–5 and promotes hands-on discovery, critical thinking, and scientific fun. Register online, at the Youth Desk, or call 928.777.1537.
