This 7-mile run is the perfect introduction to flatwater river paddling! Come get mellow on the Yellow! Join Georgia Rivers experienced guides and kayaking instructors for this run on the “Mellow Yellow” from Mt. Tabor Road to Yellow River Park in the historic mill village of Porterdale. Along the 3-4 hour route, we’ll stop on sandbars to relax, seine for fish and other critters and learn about the rich history along the river (railroad trestles and rail cars were destroyed at the river during the Civil War; the river floated the bricks downstream that would build the Porterdale textile mills; and the mill dam itself was the target of an ill-fated bombing by disgruntled mill workers). The trip is suitable for beginners. Registration fees include guide services and map and shuttle services.
Skill Level Required: This is a flatwater paddle suitable for beginners and novices.
