Dear Parents and Carers, Year 1 Community Afternoon
This term’s topic explores where we live and how we contribute to our community. To celebrate this learning, we are excited to invite you to a Community Afternoon, where we can come together to enjoy fun, food and activities that highlight the diverse cultures within our school.
The event will take place on Tuesday, 11th February, from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm, and we would love for you to join us. If you're unable to attend the whole afternoon, you’re welcome to collect your child from the hall at 3:15 pm and enjoy the final 15 minutes of the event.
Our goal is to make this a vibrant and enriching experience for everyone. To achieve this, we need your help! We kindly ask if you could:
• Contribute a dish: Bring a small sample of food representing a culture or cuisine for the children to taste. Please ensure all food is nut-free as we are a nut-free school.
• Share a favourite book: If possible, bring a copy of a book from another culture or a story that’s meaningful to your family for the children to explore.
The afternoon will include:
• Book Sharing: A chance to explore books from around the world.
• Food Tasting: Opportunities for the children to sample a variety of dishes.
• Games and Activities: Fun games you can enjoy with your child.
We hope you’ll join us in making this event truly memorable. Please confirm your attendance through Arbor and let your child’s teacher know if you plan to bring food or have any other suggestions for the day.
