Instructor - Barbara Sitar
Fluent in various arts and crafts, Barbara is a versatile professional visual artist. She mentors and instructs individuals, teaches groups, leads workshops and retreats on creativity and expanded consciousness. This unique set of skills manifests in her own artwork and teaching practice that spans from glass, metal casting, drawing and painting to jewelry. Her interest is in Alchemy and Ancient history.
Class Description
In this year of the Dragon, let's dragon lovers unite!
You will make your own Dragon prints in this class.
* Learn about the New Year of The Dragon.
* Sketch or transfer your art or a visual reference onto linoleum.
* Learn to use cutting tool and cut out the pattern.
* Make your own rubber signature stamp to sign your original art print.
* Learn to mix and use ink for printing.
* Print your Dragon pattern on wood, notebook, Tshirt or paper.
* Keep your linocut pattern to make more prints on your own.
Material Fee
The materials fee for this class is $15. This is separate from the ticket price and is to reimburse the instructor for any tools or materials used in this class. This will be paid once, directly to the instructor at the start of the first class meeting. This instructor accepts payments in cash or through Venmo.
Class Goals
In this class you will be taken through the process of linocut creating and hand printing step by step. After this class you will be skilled to continue your own practice.
Linocut creates images that are bold and striking with variety of applications.
You will print on various items and gain confidence to make original work.
Material Supplied
Linoleum, cutting tools, printing inks and tools, sketching, transfer and printing paper, one woodblock, and one journal to print on.
Students Should Bring
(Optional) Students can bring a cotton T-shirt to print on.
Prerequisites
All students must be 14 years old or older. Students under 18 must be accompanied by and under the supervision of a responsible adult.
